Pop Up Pirate Popping Up On The Wii (Update: More Specifically WiiWare)

It looks like Tomy is making a Nintendo Wii version of their plastic Pop Up Pirate toy since the USK rated Pop Up Pirate as a Wii game. Pop Up Pirate is a toy where players slide plastic swords into a barrel. One of them triggers a switch which makes the pirate pop up. Here’s a video of the toy.

Tomy probably won’t just make a digitalized version of their toy. Since all we have is a rating we don’t know much about Pop Up Pirate, but one possibility is this game will be based on their Pop Up Pirate Treasure Island board game. It would be interesting to see Tomy add some alternate versions of Pop Up Pirate like the Darth Vader or Mario edition, but licensing brands like that would cost extra money so this is an extremely unlikely scenario.

Update: Hero of Legend points out (thanks!!) that Pop Up Pirate is on this mega list of WiiWare games. There is a Hard Gay Pop Up Pirate toy too, but I don’t think Tomy will use that license since Pop Up Pirate is going international.
