Resident Evil Village Gold Edition Announced, DLC Details Shared

Resident Evil Village Gold DLC

Capcom revealed details concerning downloadable content for Resident Evil Village and a new Resident Evil Village Gold Edition. The Winters’ Expansion is comprised of three different parts. One, Shadows of Rose, will focus on Ethan Winters’ daughter Rose. Resident Evil Gold Edition and Winters’ Expansion will release simultaneously on October 28, 2022. No price for Resident Evil Gold Edition or the expansion by itself was shared during the broadcast.

Additionally, multiplayer mode The Mercenaries will receive new content as well. Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu will be available as playable characters in The Mercenaries through the DLC.

Capcom also revealed that a third-person mode for Resident Evil Village will be available as add-on content. The Shadows of Rose DLC will also be in third-person, and takes place 16 years after the events of Resident Evil Village.

Winters’ Expansion will include all three mentioned pieces of downloadable content. Resident Evil Gold Edition will bundle the expansion with the base game.

In May 2022, Capcom revealed sales for Resident Evil Village reached 6.1 million units worldwide. The title had officially broken into Capcom’s Platinum Titles list in December 2021.

Resident Evil Village is available on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC. It will arrive on Macs in late 2022. Resident Evil Gold Edition and Winters’ Expansion will release simultaneously on October 28, 2022.
