July 6, 2020 is kicking off with an odd collaboration. A Rian Johnson Pokemon GO Fest commercial has appeared. Yes, that’s the same Johnson who directed and wrote Knives Out, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Looper. Somehow and for some reason, Niantic tapped him to prepare an ad hyping people up for the virtual Pokemon GO Fest that will kick off absolutely everywhere you can use the app on July 25, 2020.
Here’s the full Rian Johnson Pokemon GO commercial. It isn’t a very long spot, so it won’t take too much of your time. Keep your eyes open to catch all of the characters who make an appearance as people pull at the fabric of reality to reveal characters like Pikachu, Eevee, and Snorlax.
While Pokemon GO Fest is still a bit away, remember that there’s still a lot going on in-game during the lead-up to the event. There are three weeks worth of challenges and special activities arranged. The first week will end on July 8, 2020, so you still have time to try and get shiny Pidoves, catch starters with party hats, and see Ducklets and Flying Pikachus.
Pokemon GO is available for Android and Apple iOS devices. Pokemon GO Fest will be held July 25-26, 2020.
