People will need to wait a little longer to make their own RPGs on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One outside of Japan. NIS America has revealed a RPG Maker MV delay for the western release. It now will appear sometime later in 2019.
NIS America did offer a reason for the delay. The company noted that there are "ongoing issues with development." It did not note what those specific issues are, but did apologize to people who expected to be playing it in February 2019.
However, it is worth pointing out that there have been known issues with the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 versions of RPG Maker MV already available in Japan. An official tweet from November 18, 2018 noted that the developer was aware of problems that would result in the software freezing or save data being corrupted and was working on fixes.
RPG Maker MV is immediately available on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. The Xbox One version was delayed to Winter 2019 in Japan. It now has a general 2019 release window outside of Japan.
