Samurai Shodown’s Iroha Will Land on May 13, 2020

Another Samurai Shodown DLC character from Season Pass 2 is about to arrive. Better keep May 13, 2020 open. That’s when the Samurai Shodown Iroha add-on will land. She was first announced back at Evo Japan 2020. She follows Sogetsu Kazama, who launched on April 1, 2020.

Here’s SNK’s reveal on Twitter. As it notes, people in Europe and Oceania already can see her on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

As a reminder, Iroha is a crane who also is able to take the form of a human. She’s an exemplary fighter and participates in matches for the sake of her unknown master. She first appeared in this series in Samurai Shodown IV, but hasn’t been playable in another entry until now.

Here’s the Samurai Shodown Iroha trailer. If you didn’t already know she was was a crane, then all the imagery here would really help clue you in.

This means there is one final character to be revealed for Samurai Shodown Season Pass 2. The first was Mina Majikina, who was followed by Sogetsu and Iroha. Back in a Siliconera interview about potential DLC characters, director Nobuyuki Kuroki said, “Personally, I prefer Sieger.”

Samurai Shodown is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. It will come to the Epic Games Store in Spring 2020. The Samurai Shodown Iroha DLC will be out on May 13, 2020.
