Samurai Warriors 4 DX Now on PC Worldwide

Koei Tecmo announced a surprise worldwide PC release via Steam for the Sengoku-period hack-and-slash game Samurai Warriors 4 DX. This version originally launched in Japan in 2019 for Switch and PS4 and served as a deluxe edition of the 2014 entry Samurai Warriors 4.

Samurai Warriors is the sister series to the longer running Dynasty Warriors games, though it is set in Japan’s Sengoku period rather than China’s Three Kingdoms era. As well as the usual story mode and Hero vs. Horde combat, the game also features mid-battle character switching and customizable player officers. As the deluxe edition of the original Samurai Warriors 4, the game boasts a roster of 55 characters and includes over 150 of the previously released DLC items like weapons and soundtracks. The latest game in the series, Samurai Warriors 5, is also available on Steam.

The official announcement tweet includes a launch trailer:

Earlier in May 2024, Koei Tecmo announced a new figure of Ninja Gaiden protagonist Ryu Hayabusa as part of Kaiyodo’s Revoltech line. Meanwhile, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis players will soon be able to obtain crossover items based on Koei Tecmo and Gust’s Atelier Ryza and Atelier Marie series.

Samurai Warriors 4 DX is now available on PC worldwide via Steam.
