The Pokémon Company have announced more details on Pokémon Rumble U, a Nintendo eShop game for the Wii U, along with a first trailer that shows off the recently announced NFC feature that lets you add Pokémon to the game using figurines you can purchase separately:
Pokémon Rumble U will launch with seven different figurines—Lucario, Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Victini, Torchic and Piplup. In Japan, these figures will be available for Research at vending machines from Pokémon Centers. More figures will be rolled out at later dates, and you’ll also be able to use your figurines in your friends’ games.
Each area in Pokémon Rumble U is divided into multiple battles and ends with a boss encounter. Attacks in the game can also be performed by tapping the Wii U GamePad’s screen.
Pokémon Rumble U will be released in April 24th in Japan as a download via the Nintendo eShop. Wii U owners that purchase a download code for the game at a Pokémon Center in Japan will get a complementary Pikachu figurine with a special power. The game will cost 1,800 yen while figurines will go for 200 yen each.
