Sega & Atlus TGS 2020 Online Cosplay Contest Voting Starts

While it is no Comiket, Tokyo Game Show is always a great opportunity to catch cosplays in Japan, but unfortunately, TGS 2020 will be an online-only event. Thankfully, Sega and Atlus stepped up with an official cosplay contest of their own for fans to check out.

Many cosplayers entered the Sega & Atlus special TGS 2020 Online Cosplay Contest with the #セガTGS2020コスプレ (Sega TGS 2020 Cosplay) hashtag on Twitter. To commemorate the occasion of Sega’s 60th anniversary, the contest has narrowed down the entrants to 60.

Here’s a look at some of the entrants:

Mine Kapiwo as Kazuma Kiryu (Yakuza series)

This Kiryu cosplay by Mine Kapiwo (@sarueman2003) certainly gets my vote for actually making me zoom in to make sure it was an actual photograph and not a screenshot that was put in by accident.

Sachiko as Spiricle Striker Mugen (Sakura Wars)

Because any kind of mecha cosplay always deserves all the props in the world and this one by Sachiko (@sachiko1108) is especially great.

Akisame as Segata Sanshiro (Sega Saturn mascot)

It doesn’t get any more Sega than this Segata Sanshiro by Akisame (@cure_sanshirou). He even comes includes with a giant Sega Saturn console and controller!

Yuunagi as Shadow Futaba (Persona 5)

Bonus points to Yuunagi (@nag1y) for going Shadow Futaba.

Sena as Kasumi Yoshizawa (Persona 5 Royal)

And bonus points for Sena (@senanana_cos) for going Kasumi Yoshizawa with the perfect red.

Shino as Ippon-Datara (Shin Megami Tensei series)

An obscure Shin Megami Tensei character is always worth a mention and Shino (@sieben0) certainly deserves one for this Ippon-Datara outfit.

They’re all amazing cosplays, but to vote for your favorite one, go to the official Sega TGS website and click the pink button that says “投票ページへ” (to the voting page) then click the gray button that says “次へ” (Next) to make your selection. You can vote once per day until September 26, 2020 at 6:00 pm JST. The top-3 winners will be announced on September 27, 2020 during the Sega Atlus TV broadcast.

Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online Takes place from September 23, 2020 to September 27, 2020. You can also check out the Sega & Atlus TGS 2020 lineup here.
