Sega has announced that it has launched new game music brand: Sega Music. The new Sakura Wars soundtrack will be the brand’s first CD release. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Sega Music will handle all Sega game music in the future. This means you can expect to start seeing the brand’s logo on future products, including CDs. President and CEO Hajime Satomi expressed high hopes for the new brand, and aims to continue to work hard for SEGA’s newest venture.

Here’s some trivia for you. The new logo includes a secret in part of its design. The sound wave featured in the the logo represents the sound “Sega” being spoken aloud.

Sega Music’s first release will be the Sakura Wars Complete Collection CD, which will be released on April 29, 2020. The game was released worldwide on April 28 for the PlayStation 4, and appeared in 2019 in Japan. The new CD collection will include the main theme, character songs, and other tracks/a> on two discs.

Sega has often released video game soundtracks for fans to enjoy, though sometimes other companies aid in getting the music out there. For example, the Sega Store was selling Sega Ages Outrun Music Collection back in 2019. In March 2020, the Data Discs’ Bandcamp began selling Streets of Rage soundtracks online for people who wanted music from the trilogy of games.
