On May 9, 2019, Sony will hold its second State of Play announcement. When it first came up, the company only confirmed a focus on the MediEvil remake and the reveal of an unknown title. Now, it appears Square Enix could be teasing something related to the Final Fantasy series.

It all began when Shinji Hashimoto, a Square Enix Executive Officer and Final Fantasy Brand Manager, called attention to this next State of Play. He retweeted it and said, “Oh, it has come.”

Following Hashimoto’s tweets, the official Final Fantasy Twitter account shared some suspicious ones. First, a picture of Cloud visiting a chocobo ranch in Final Fantasy VII appeared. Then, there was a chocobo-related survey question.

It seems to suggest a Final Fantasy-related announcement could appear. Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon recently received an updated port. Perhaps Chocobo Racing could make a comeback or another new game could be revealed.

People can watch Sony’s State of Play on May 9, 2019 on Facebook, Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube.
