There was a whole new trailer for the game during the presentation, which gave us a better look at its hero and the enemies we’ll face. The segment kicked off with the demonic enemies saying, “The God you worship is dead.” We then see our avatar walking through the subways. That’s when the voice says, “Order itself has crumbled, and chaos shall reign over all.” The avatar is then walking through a decimated desert city. The voice asks, “In a world without its Creator, which path shall you choose?”

Shin Megami Tensei V was originally announced in October 2017. There was a teaser trailer released at the time, but for a while Atlus went rather silent regarding its development. We’d get occasional development updates, but there wasn’t concrete news about the game beyond occasional teases and confirmations that it was in development and on-track.

Nintendo later shared the full trailer on its YouTube account.

Shin Megami Tensei V will come to the Nintendo Switch in 2021.
