wipeout_hd When we last covered Sony-owned wipEout developer, Studio Liverpool, the subject of the report was a mysteriously-canceled wipEout game that was in development for unnamed hardware. The news came via the resumé of Martin Linklater, former Technical Director at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

Earlier in the year, Studio Liverpool underwent a restructuring alongside other Sony game development studios, which, unfortunately, involved lay-offs and cancellation of several projects. A recently-posted job listing, however, suggests that Studio Liverpool are not only actively developing games again, but are also prepping for what seems to be the next wipEout game.

studio_liverpool_job The listing is for the post of a Senior Designer, to work on a “high-profile, futuristic racing franchise.” The only such franchise Sony own is wipEout.

What system this game is for isn’t mentioned either. It could be for the PlayStation 3 or even for the inevitable PSP2. Only time will tell.
