Spike Chunsoft announced that for the Danganronpa 10th anniversary, you will be able to take a picture with your favorite character using an AR photo frame service. It is available for iOS and Android devices from the official Danganronpa website.
When you click into the website, you get your pick of characters from the first three mainline games and Ultra Despair Girls. Most likely to avoid spoilers, all of the sprites appear in their default forms. This means that any transformations that characters go through due to some event in the plot are not reflected.
You cannot change the characters’ poses. But they appear as they do in-game, looking like a paper cutout that you can rotate to your liking. Like most AR photo frames, the Danganronpa one requires a surface for the characters to stand on. After they show up, you can adjust the size however you see fit. This service works best with browsers like Google Chrome.
Earlier this month, Dengeki Online hosted an unofficial poll about players’ most popular Danganronpa characters. Official sources are also celebrating the 10th anniversary, as Spike Chunsoft is offering a variety of commemorative merchandise from the EJ Anime Store. Pre-orders will close on December 5, 2021.
Danganronpa Decadence launches on Nintendo Switch on December 3, 2021. The Danganronpa AR photo frame service is only available for a limited time.
