Splatoon is getting a brand new online multiplayer mode this Tuesday: Tower Control. This mode will be added to Ranked Battle, which also includes Splat Zones, and the objective is to ride a single floating tower into the enemy’s base.

The tower is initially placed in the centre of the map, and both teams rush toward it. Once a player climbs aboard, it begins moving, but riding the tower increases your chances of getting killed, since everyone else has the tower in their sights. Just like in Ranked Battle and Turf War, players are encouraged and rewarded for working as a team by protecting the member of your team that’s riding the tower.

Tower Control will be available at 7 pm PT on July 1st. You can watch a “Treehouse: Live with Splatoon Tower Control” livestream at 3 pm PT today to get a sneak peek of the new mode at https://twitch.tv/Nintendo.
