With Final Fantasy Resonance showing up and retelling part of the Brave Exvius story again next week, Square Enix took to social media to offer an estimate of how long it might take for someone to beat the HD-2D JRPG. It explained that it should last at least 30 hours, but perhaps as many as 40 hours.

With the estimate, Square Enix specifically mentioned its suggestion of how long it could take to beat Final Fantasy Resonance does only apply to the main campaign. That essentially picks up with the Season 1 story of the former mobile game and follows the adventures of the Kingdom of Grandshelt knights Rain and Lasswell and the amnesiac woman named Fina that they meet. It did note that there will be additional, optional experiences that don’t count toward that play-time estimate. For example, the company already mentioned there will be optional Secret Dungeons.

Ahead of launch, Square Enix’s shared a few of these community Q&A statements that went over other elements of Final Fantasy Resonance in addition to how long it will take to beat it. Another went over how familiar someone might need to be with the series as a whole to enjoy it. Square Enix noted that while there will be cameos and crossovers, there will also be proper introductions to these people via “individual stories.”

Final Fantasy Resonance will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 22, 2026, and the demo is out now.
