Sony and Square Enix promised we’d see a lot of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third part of the FFVII remake trilogy, at the end of the first half of the September 2026 State of Play showcase, and it involved a release date and trailer. That just happened! It arrives on April 8, 2027. It involved a lot of gameplay footage highlighting what Cloud and the crew will be up to when the final part of the story appears.
The new footage consisted of a bit of a mix of some story segments and gameplay. We got to see Cloud and his team fight against enemies, with some of that part of the showcase seeming to highlight the new job system at play. It also meant more chances to see people who weren’t as prominently featured in past parts, like Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind.
Here’s the full FFVII Revelation release date trailer:
You can watch the full Sony State of Play September 2026 presentation below on YouTube. That includes the larger teaser of gameplay footage.
We got to see a bunch of announcements about FFVII Revelation lately and more are on the way. Gamescom 2026 involved a new trailer for the game and the game at Square Enix’s booth for the event. There’s the PAX West 2026 presentation for it, complete with part streamed online. It’s also likely we’ll see it at the 2026 Tokyo Game Show.
The Final Fantasy VII Revelation release date is April 8, 2027, and it will come to the Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the FFVII Remake and Rebirth entries are available on all four of those platforms now.
