Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Gameplay Will Feature Unique Skills and Job System

Square Enix has shared more information regarding how gameplay, specifically combat, will function in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will function. This includes a brief breakdown of two unique abilities Jack will have at his disposal. Additionally, players will have access to more run of the mill Final Fantasy abilities, like the use of magic. As mentioned previously, Jack will be able to utilize unique abilities to empower himself on his quest to kill Chaos. This includes the “Soul Burst” and “Light Bringer” skills. Please keep in mind that the names of these skills are being translated, and may not reflect what will appear in the English localization of the title. If players “break” enemies they can initiate “Soul Burst” to crystalize and then shatter the enemy. After doing so Jack will regain a bit of MP.

“Light Bringer,” on the other hand, can be used to temporarily empower Jack at the cost of using MP. Using “Light Bringer” will make it easier to “break” enemies. If used properly, players will have enough MP to consistently trigger both the “Light Bringer” and “Soul Break” skills.

Additionally, other gameplay information regarding Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin include the reveal of mini-boss monsters. These empowered monsters have the chance to appear as you traverse the various environments of the game. Players will also have access to the Job system. Depending on what Job you’ve selected, you can equip various different weapons and your attack style will change.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2022. An official website for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is now available.
