Namco Bandai’s Tales fighting game will include 35 characters from 13 different Tales of games. The series list begins with Tales of Phantasia, the origin of the Tales series, and ends at last year’s Tales of Hearts. It appears the number will cover all of the “mothership” titles plus Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.

Four characters have been confirmed: Shing (Hearts), Yuri (Vesperia), Luke (Abyss), and Richter (Dawn of the New World). An original story with full voice acting will tie the characters together in Yggdrasil Battle Mode.

Outside of the main mode Tales of Vs. will have a mini-game mode and mobile content data connectivity. This could mean cell phone connectivity, perhaps releasing passwords like Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Since neither feature was explained we’ll have to wait for a future report. In the mean time try and guess the remaining 31 characters before Tales of Vs. comes out in the summer.
