Tapping zombies to avoid a Zombie Crisis

Touch of the Dead was a decent experience at mimicking the light gun genre on the Nintendo DS. The game was never released in Japan so D3 Publisher and DreamFactory (!) are going teaming up to release the first on rails zombie poking game in Japan. I guess I’m interested in this less because of the gameplay (it’s been done before) and more because DreamFactory is involved. Remember Tobal No.1? They were the developers. However, recently DreamFactory went down a slippery slope with Appleseed EX and now they are making games for the Simple series.

To be entirely honest the Simple Series Vol. 32 Zombie Crisis doesn’t look very good either. There is a knife in the game, but instead of making a slashing motion you still tap zombies. It comes off as sloppy, but at least the Zombie Crisis will be moderately priced at 2,800 yen ($26) when it comes out in Japan on January 31.
