Team Rocket Leader Giovanni Has Infiltrated Pokemon GO

An iconic Pokemon villain has found his way into another entry. The Team Rocket leader, Giovanni, has gotten into Pokemon GO. He, alongside the original characters created to cause mayhem in the game, are now available in the game. People can now go through new Special Research and encounter Team Rocket leaders Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra.

Niantic explained how these encounters will work. To find Team Rocket leaders, you need Rocket Radars. To make Rocket Radars, you must fight Team Rocket Grunts and get Mysterious Components. When you have six, you can make a Rocket Radar and scan to find Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra’s hideouts at PokeStops. If you find a hideout, then others can find it as well, even if they haven’t made a Rocket Radar. Fighting the leaders will give you a chance to get Shadow Pokemon with “special qualities.”

The new Pokemon GO Special Research is called Looming in the Shadows. It starts out small, by having people spin PokeStops, fight three Team GO Rocket Grunts, and catch a Shadow Pokemon. After that, you’ll eventually need to visit more PokeStops, collect and purify more Shadow Pokemon, fight in Raids, build a Rocket Radar, fight leaders like Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra, and then finally challenge Giovanni.

Here is the video revealing Team Rocket leader Giovanni’s Pokemon GO appearance.

Pokemon GO is available for Android and Apple iOS devices. Team Rocket first showed up in the game back in July 2019, and its three original Team Rocket leaders first appeared in early October 2019.
