The Batgirl Story DLC Brings Back The Joker In Batman: Arkham Knight

    0

Batman: Arkham Knight’s first major DLC story episode is being released on July 14th. Predictably, the “Batgirl: A Matter of Family” DLC is a prequel story and will feature the Joker, who met his demise at the end of Batman: Arkham City.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the Batgirl: A Matter of Family DLC has Batgirl teaming up with Robin to save her father, Commissioner Gordon, whom the Joker has kidnapped. The episode takes place in a new area called the Seagate Amusement Park, a nautical theme park built atop an oil rig.

Batgirl’s abilities will include being able to hack take down enemies, control objects, and solve puzzles, and this is what will set her apart from Batman, according to design producer Justin Vazquez.

“Hacking is really what separates her from the other characters. It’s a gameplay mechanic with which the player can create situations for Batgirl to really shine,” Vazquez says. “Our intention was that Batgirl should be less powerful than Batman, but that Batgirl plus hacking could give her opportunities do things that not even Batman can pull off.”

Additionally, the Batgirl DLC will also feature Harley Quinn alongside Joker—only, this time, Harley will be dressed in her black and red outfit from Batman: The Animated Series. The DLC episode will cost $6.99.
