Popular Evangelion characters will appear as playable units in the game. [Thanks, PR Times!]

Additionally, cat versions of some of these characters will also be available. Some of the characters available in the collaboration include several EVA Units, like Unit-01, Unit-13, Unit-02, and Unit-08, various Angels, and even a cat-variant of the AAA Wunder. That one is called the “Neko Wunder.”

The Battle Cats is a free-to-play tower defense game where the player commands a battalion of “cats” available in multiple varieties, to defend their “cat base.” The game originally released for iOS and Android devices in September 2014. A Nintendo Switch version of the game released in Japan on December 2018 and in South East Asia on December 2021. Both versions are digital only, but they include English language options alongside Japanese, Korean, and Traditional Chinese.

The Battle Cats x Neon Genesis Evangelion collaboration event is now available in Japan, and it will last until June 15, 2023.
