The Kazuya SSBU Release Date is Set for This Week

The June 28, 2021 Super Smash Bros Ultimate presentation revealed something we suspected. That is, Tekken’s Kazuya Mishima release date will be June 29, 2021. People will be able to recruit the character to their roster via a single DLC purchase or the fighter pack. People will also get access to a new Mishima Dojo stage, new music, and Spirits from the Tekken series when he debuts in-game.

As part of the presentation, Sakurai talked about why Kazuya was chosen. He pointed to the Devil Gene. That allows him to assume the Devil form and is why he was chosen instead of Heihachi. His normal attacks are designed to resemble normal Tekken moves, while his special attacks use his Devil form and special powers.

The second SSBU Fighters Pass kicked things off by adding ARMS’ Min Min to the roster. She was followed by Minecraft’s Steve and Alex and FFVII’s Sephiroth. Then, in February 2021, Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s Pyra and Mythra showed up. Kazuya was revealed as SSBU Challenger Pack 10 at E3 2021, with Nintendo confirming his release date would show up in a later presentation.

This means there is only one SSBU DLC character left to be revealed. The Fighters Pass Vol. 2 added six new characters to the cast. (The original added five.) Director Masahiro Sakurai hasn’t suggested who might join them as the final player.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is available for the Nintendo Switch. The SSBU Kazuya release date is June 29, 2021. You can get him alone for $5.99 or in the $29.99 Fighters Pass Vol. 2.
