The Stardew Valley 1.6 Update Will Add a New Festival and More Dialogue

Back in April 2023, Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone brought up how work on Haunted Chocolatier paused to head back to Stardew Valley. Now, we know a bit more about what that will entail. The developer confirmed four features that will appear. Most notably, a new festival and more character dialogue will show up in the Stardew Valley 1.6 update.

Here’s the full announcement. It is vague, however, and doesn’t offer any hints as to what the dialogue, festival, and items could entail in Stardew Valley 1.6. There’s also no screenshot of any of the updated content yet.

Concerned Ape first discussed this update back in March 2022. At the time, it was more of a hypothetical situation. At the time, he noted that it wouldn’t be “as big as the 1.5 update was.”

This is the second news tied to the game showing up in July 2023. Last month, Apple announced that the farming and life sim would join its Apple Arcade lineup. People who subscribe to the $4.99 per service will be able to access it on phones and tablets.

Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita, and the 1.6 update is in development.
