For those unfamiliar with the series, The Way of the Househusband is a slice-of-life series following the former legendary yakuza member, The Immortal Dragon. Tatsu retired and now acts as a househusband, maintaining the home while Miku works. The series follows his daily interactions with people in the neighborhood, with a younger thug named Masa who idolizes him and with people who knew him in his former life and are now adjusting to the “new” life Tatsu leads.

Here’s Netflix’s announcement tweet, which offered a better look at Tatsu’s work.

To help provide a better idea of what The Way of the Househusband is like, here is the live-action 2019 commercial. It was made to celebrate the manga hitting the 1.2 million copies in print hallmark. It basically takes one of Tatsu’s earliest “adventures” and brings it to life.

The Way of the Househusband anime series will air on Netflix in 2021. The manga is currently running in Japan and is being localized by Viz Media. The Way of the Househusband live-action show is airing in Japan now. It joins forthcoming Netflix anime series like Godzilla: Singular Point and Pacific Rim: The Black.
