This Week In Imports: Kingdom Hearts III Meets Resident Evil 2 Remake

It’s a bumper week in Japan, as two highly-anticipated titles that have received an extended development time are coming out – Kingdom Hearts III and Resident Evil 2 remake. Kingdom Hearts III is set to be the last game in the Xehanort Saga, and takes Sora into Disney worlds based on movies more familiar to modern players, like Tangled, Frozen, and Big Hero 6. Meanwhile, Resident Evil 2 goes back to its survival horror roots with a focus on making zombies scary again, retreading Leon and Claire’s first attempt at surviving against the undead.

Everything else seems to have avoided the week of these two releases, except the Famicom Tantei Club-inspired Ise-Shima Mystery Guide: The False Black Pearl which releases safely on Switch digitally this week. Higurashi When They Cry Hou is the one major outlier which dares to challenge the two juggernauts on PS4.
