Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, which is Persona 5-2 in all but name, will releases on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch this week. The game is half the gameplay of Koei Tecmo’s Warriors series and half a Persona game, in terms of story and communication with other party members. Over summer vacation, Joker and the Phantom Thieves are approached by a cop named Zenkichi Hasegawa, who tasks them with looking into mysterious Cognitive Realms named Jails that are appearing over Japan.
Apart from Persona, the Way of the Samurai series returns with a gaiden game titled Katana Kami. This one is developed by Spike Chunsoft and brings some roguelike flair into this isometric hack ‘n slash title. You’ll help hapless blacksmith Gunji Dojima pay back his debt, while bringing back materials and katanas from the Jikai otherworld.
Next, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] releases this week, adding Londrekia, Tutorial and Gallery modes, as well as balance changes. Players with Late[st] can upgrade their game to [cl-r] via a paid update. Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition adds in Style Switching, Weapon Switching, and co-op Bloody Palace mode. Finally, the indie game Giraffe and Annika by Elite Beat Agent character designer Atsushi Saito releases tomorrow via Steam.
