We’re getting a double helping of big releases this week with both Nintendo’s Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Atlus’ Persona 5 Royal, which both release on October 31, Halloween. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is actually a bit of a misnomer, as it takes place inside a giant, skyscraper hotel instead, and has Luigi catching ghosts to save Mario, Princess Peach, and the others.
Meanwhile, Persona 5 Royal is an expanded rerelease of the hit RPG, adding in new character Kasumi alongside a new Confidant, and a reworked Confidant for Goro Akechi. The game also expands upon the story with a brand-new third semester, and a new area in Kichijoji to explore and hang out at.
To go along with the spooky Halloween atmosphere, Disgaea 4 Complete+ is being brought over to the Nintendo Switch. One not-so-spooky game that releases as well is Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, which brings back AiAi’s Wii outing to modern platforms with expanded levels and a more focused selection of party games.
The latest Mario & Sonic Olympics game also comes out this week, which seems to have a larger budget this time, and also has a couple of retro-styled sports competitions based on the Tokyo 1964 Olympics. Finally, FuRyu’s fashion game Model Debut #nicola takes the stage on the Nintendo Switch.
