Tomb Raider Comic To Lead Directly Into Sequel

Tomb Raider is getting a new comic from Dark Horse in 2014, and the series will fill the gap between the game and its sequel, says writer Gail Simone.

Speaking with Kotaku, Simone, who has worked on comics like Batgirl and Deadpool, revealed that the comic takes place very soon after the recent Tomb Raider game. When asked if the comic will still feature a relatively green Lara, Simon replied:

“Very much so, we start just a few weeks after the end of the game, and this is all in continuity, it will be Tomb Raider canon, and lead DIRECTLY into the sequel. This is what got me excited; we get to be part of Lara Croft history.”

Simon also shared that, instead of being confined to one locale like she was in the game, the Tomb Raider comic will take Lara globetrotting.

Tomb Raider’s first issue will be published in February 2014.
