Another company has offered a free game away in March 2020 to aid in keeping people who are social distancing occupied and indoors. Ubisoft is offering up free Child of Light PC copies. All people need to do is visit its official Ubisoft Store before March 28, 2020 to claim a cop of the normally $14.99 game.
Child of Light is a fairy tale about a princess who finds herself transported to the mythical Lemuria. While she wishes to return home, she has to restore celestial bodies like the sun, moon, and stars to do so. This means she must defeat Umbra, the Queen of the Night, and go on a journey with others who are also searching for things. It’s a turn-based RPG, though with some light platforming elements and mechanics that involve using Igniculus’ abilities to aid Aurora and the party.
This is one of many companies endeavors to make social distancing and dealing with the worldwide pandemic a bit easier. Fruitbat Factory, for example, gave away five of its visual novels. Square Enix gave away free Tomb Raider titles. You can even get a mobile version of Sword and Sworcery for free.
Child of Light is available on the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. Only the Child of Light PC version is temporarily free.
