The Wargroove PlayStation 4 port timeline was a whole thing. It all came down to various issues during development and regarding cross-play compatibility. But now, there’s a light on the horizon. While the other systems have been set for quite some time and even had a free add-on expansion, the Wargroove PS4 cross-play and Double Trouble update will finally arrive on August 4, 2020. Also, it is free for everyone.
Cross-play in Wargroove is rather comprehensive. It means that people can go online and play competitively or cooperatively together on any platform, with both private and public lobbies. More importantly, it means someone can tap into a large reservoir of user-created content. Due to the built-in editor that lets people make their own campaigns or maps, PS4 owners will be able to tap into other people’s creations on other systems.
As for Double Trouble, the add-on gives people the Outlaw army and its optional co-op campaign. (It can be played alone.) People can use the twins Errol and Orla, who act as a single CO, Vesper, and Wulfar to go through the new storyline as the group attempts to steal from Aurania’s other nations. The add-on also added new Quick Play maps, Arcade missions, and the Rifleman and Thief units.
Wargroove is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Wargroove PS4 cross-play and Double Trouble DLC update will arrive on August 4, 2020.
