In the game, you control Wario himself and other characters through microgames. Each character has different abilities, and playing the same challenges with different ones lead to different strategies. For example, Wario has a dash and Ashley can hurl spells.

WarioWare: Get It Together also features two-player local cooperative play. Players can use local wireless, or play on the same system. The game will pack in more than 200 minigame challenges.

The announcement was part of the June 15, 2021 Nintendo Direct. Among the other announcements in the 40-minute E3 2021 Nintendo Direct were Metroid Dread, Shin Megami Tensei V, and Danganronpa Decadence.
