Watch Dogs’ Walking Animation Was More Complicated To Mocap Than You’d Think

A new promotional video for Watch Dogs shared by Ubisoft shows a motion-capture session for the game’s main character, Aiden Pearce. In Watch Dogs, Pearce is a hacker that is able to take control of the city of Chicago.

Animation director Colin Graham details how the development team rigged Pearce’s actor with a rope to help him maintain his in-game walking pose. You can see this and more in the video above.

Watch Dogs will be released on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U this November. The game will later be released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as well.
