What Does The Former Etrian Odyssey Director Do On Final Fantasy XIV?

Recommended Videos

Back in September, we reported that former Etrian Odyssey and Trauma Center director, Kazuya Niinou, is now employed at Square Enix and working on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

What does Niinou do? Well, as previously reported, he’s assistant director on the game. Additionally, Square revealed today in a blog post that Niinou is also the quest team lead on Final Fantasy XIV. That position is a lot clearer than simply “assistant director”.

Niinou underwent surgery to have one of his organs removed last year, due to health issues. Following the procedure, he found it difficult to continue working as a director on games, which is why he made the switch. Prior to joining Square, he was at Imageepoch, where he helped create 7th Dragon.
