Update: Nintendo have replied to our query regarding whether there are plans to bring the Pikachu-themed Nintendo 3DS XL over to North America. In an e-mail, they replied: “On this subject, Nintendo has nothing to announce at this time. Thanks for reaching out and please let [us] know if you have any other questions.”
Original story: Nintendo just put out a new commercial for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, which is headed to North America on March 24th. In it, one of the two kids playing the game just so happens to be holding the special Pikachu-themed Nintendo 3DS XL that was released in Japan and Europe last year:

Is the Pikachu 3DS XL coming to North America? I suppose we’ll find out soon enough. We’ve contacted The Pokémon Company for comment and will provide an update if we receive a reply.
