A “System Transfer” option has been added within System Settings

  • Click here for additional information on this feature

Improvements to system stability and usability:

  • Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience

The System Transfer feature will let you move users, Nintendo Network IDs, save data, and digital content from one Wii U to another. All content will be transferred over, and will be removed from the source Wii U when it is. Additionally, all content on the target Wii U will be lost and replaced by the new content from the source Wii U, with the exception of Wii Menu content, Internet connection settings, TV settings, Wii U GamePad TV Remote settings, and Wii Remote and Wii U GamePad pairing.

Nintendo Network IDs that previously existed on the target Wii U can be re-linked after the transfer is complete. You can read up on that here. Once these Nintendo Network IDs are re-linked, content purchased by them on the target Wii U will become available for download once more.
