Wing of Darkness is a 3D flight shooter game that will tell the story of Klara Ernst and Erika Loerzer, two young girls who become Fräuleins that can pilot the HELT-System armaments to fight against Blanker, a mysterious military force threatening the whole humanity. The game is being developed by Production Exabilities using Unreal Engine 4 and TrueSKY.

The last time we heard of Wing of Darkness was in February 2020, when Clouded Leopard revealed that it is the global publisher for the flight shooter game. It originally listed a Q1 2020 release window, along with PC and PlayStation 4 as known platforms. This announcement also means that a Nintendo Switch release has been newly added to the platform lineup.

The Japanese press release also mentioned that, although the game will be immediately available digitally worldwide, physical releases on the PS4 and Switch will be only available in Asia. However, the physical copies will support not just Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and English languages. It will even include French, Italian, German, and Spanish subtitles as well.

Wing of Darkness limited edition

A limited physical edition of Wing of Darkness has also been announced. Other than the game copy, the large box will include a visual fan book, a B5-sized sticker sheet, an acrylic stand figure, a couple of Abend Flügel badges, and the title’s original soundtrack.

The soundtrack will also include a voice drama and the full versions of the theme songs by the Japanese voice actresses of the two main characters: Klara Ernst by Kiyono Yasuno and Erika Loerzer by Chihira Mochida. The Limited Edition also has one more special item that is still yet to be revealed.

Wing of Darkness will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on February 25, 2021.
