Yakuza: Of The End Has A Bit Of Dead Rising And A Bit Of Dungeon Crawling

Sega released a new gameplay video for Yakuza: Of the End, which shows Kazuma Kiryu and company wasting zombies with tanks, chainsaws, and bicycles. Similar to Dead Rising players can use ordinary objects to fend off flesh-eating zombies in this PlayStation 3 game.

Background objects are even deadlier when targeted with the game’s heat snipe system. Instead of shooting a zombie, you can target a car to blow it up or hit an electrical panel to shock a group of zombies. Each character’s trusty firearm can be upgraded by collecting dropped items.

And it seems like Kamurocho Underground will be a good place to find parts. This area is an underground, zombie killing dungeon where you can clear missions. Even though Kamurocho is in ruins, the game includes real life brands and a cabaret club where you can play a massage mini-game.

This second video explains the background story. As explained earlier, Kamurocho is overrun by zombies and grotesque creatures. Overwhelmed by the monsters, Japan’s Self Defense Force constructs a wall and seals the district in. Complicating matters further, Haruka, a key character from the Yakuza games, has been kidnapped. Kazuma returns to Kamurocho to rescue her. Four characters from the Yakuza series: Kazuma Kiryu, Shun Akiyama, Ryuji Goda, and Goro Majima band together to save the town.

Japanese comedians David, Esper, and Terry Ito appear in Yakuza: Of the End as zombies. Sega announced the collaboration with a press event where series producer Toshihiro Nagoshi explained players will run into the "Triple Ito" group while playing through the game normally.

Yakuza: Of the End comes out in Japan on March 17. We’re still waiting on Yakuza 4, which Sega will release in North America the same week.
