Yumi’s Odd Odyssey, known in Japan as Farewell, Umihara Kawase, has a release window in North America. Natsume will release the game in January 2014, the publisher announced this morning.

Yumi’s Odd Odyssey is, in a sense, similar to the side-scrolling Bionic Commando games. Yumi carries a backpack and fishing line that she can use to swing around, traversing the game’s stages, finding hidden items and alternate exists. The game will also include a Ranking feature that lets you compare scores against other players.

Natsume will release Yumi’s Odd Odyssey via the Nintendo eShop as a download title. This is the first game in the cult classic series to be released outside Japan.
