Crunchyroll announced it will bring episodes of the Yuri on Ice anime to movie theaters in the US and Canada for the series’ tenth anniversary. The show started airing back on October 6, 2016, and the Anime Nights showing will be October 19, 2026. The Mappa series is already streaming on Crunchyroll and on Blu-ray. (There was once a movie planned, but it was canceled.)
Fandango is taking pre-orders for tickets and showing locations that will be airing the special presentation. The movie theaters will show the first five episodes of the Yuri on Ice anime adaptation as part of the occasion. It will only be available in Japanese with English subtitles. Regardless of where you are in either country, the showing will be held at 7pm local time.
Here’s the official trailer for the Yuri on Ice 10th anniversary showing. It highlights the figure skating performances, showing Yuri Katsuki and Victor Nikiforov performing. As the Crunchyroll Anime Nights presentation will consist of the first five episodes, we’ll see Yuri perform Victor’s routine, go viral, meet Victor, and compete against Yuri Plisetsky.
