This Week In Tales: Sales of Phantasia

Namco smartly timed the release of Narikiri Dungeon X to coincide with their recent Tales announcements, while the series is fresh on everyone’s minds. Amidst little competition, the game topped the sales charts upon release last week.

The other two new releases in the top-ten were StormLover — a highschool otome game for the PSP — and Battle Spirits: Digital Starter, at #6 and #10 respectively.

The top-ten chart for the week of August 2nd – 8th is as follows:

I never thought Phantasia would do good on it first week :)

now i bet someone will say that this is a good reason for a localization XD

Amazing pun, I think I love you, Ish :P

Man, I've not been around here too much… DCAU's been taking up all my time.

    Great work!!

Don't sweat it! I fell horribly ill last week, which is why I wasn't in the last Facebook discussions myself. And juggling classes at the same time gets kind of dicey, too, so…

  • epy

So… Namco Bandai IS capable of timing their releases in a smart fashion.

  • holyPaladin

Congrats to Tales Studio although it's a remake

  • joesz

lol! there's a high sale difference between the wii version and the ps3 version of sengoku basara.most likely due to the high graphic of the ps3.

  • STiger

This is a terrible reason for localization!

Naw, just kidding. I'd love to see this game… especially 'cause the demos were fun.

Afaik, the PS3 version has online. The graphics are not as important as you think.

  • Hraesvelgr

I thought the graphics weren't much different?

In the last sales thread, nyoron said neither version had online.

  • joesz

    Some people thinks oppositely.

I got this theory from my friends.every time I play a game with them on the wii the yconstantly complains about the wii being a crappy console that does not support high graphics.

Also I gave one of my friends the phantasia's demo 2 weeks ago and again,he complained.

Deprivation breeds fanboyism; I’m suffering from the Stockholm Syndrome of localization woes. Whenever I see a post about Tales games I get depressed because I know that Namco Bandai will never bring the damn things here.
