Drink The Yooka-Laylee 64-Bit Tonic Today On The Nintendo Switch And PC

A new feature has been added to Yooka-Laylee. People playing the Nintendo Switch or PC version of the game can now head to Vendi for the 64-Bit Tonic. This shader, when applied to the game, will make it look more like a Nintendo 64 title.

Once Nintendo Switch or PC players update the game, they will find the Yooka-Laylee 64-Bit Tonic waiting at Vendi. There is no need to unlock it in any way. If you visit her at any point, you can get the item and change the look of the entire game.

The 64-Bit Tonic is not available in the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions of Yooka-Laylee just yet. It will come to both platforms, but Playtonic Games noted that it needed some finishing touches to eliminate some bugs before launching. No release window has been set for it yet, beyond “a later date.”

As a reminder, Playtonic started work on Yooka-Laylee 64-Bit Tonic back in July 2018. Quality assurance testing for it started in October 2018. You can see how the shader looks now in the trailer below.

Yooka-Laylee is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
