8 More Monster Sanctuary Monsters Move in Alongside the Magma Sanctuary Update

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s getting hot in Monster Sanctuary. The Magma Sanctuary has opened its doors. The latest update includes a new location with fiery biome that is home to eight new characters and expands the current storyline. Here’s hoping people have been stocking up on monsters that have water-type skill trees. (If you picked the Spectral Toad or Wolf as a starter, they might help.)

The Magma Sanctuary, as the name suggests, gives people a series of volcanic kinds of caverns to explore. Eight new Monster Sanctuary monsters live there. As you might imagine, they have scorching dispositions. (If you have the right characters, they’re easy to cool down.) Some are even dragon-like. Heading into this area also continues the campaign’s story. You can even happen upon a new Champion who is ready for a fight.

You can get a peek at the new Monster Sanctuary monsters and location in the teaser trailer.

In addition to the additions that come from a whole new biome joining the game, there are other updates to make existing adventures and characters more interesting. Tier 5 abilities can be unlocked for every monster, if you spend enough time leveling them up. A goblin merchant has arrived to peddle their wares, two more people are ready to challenge you to a Keeper Duel at the hub, the level cap is higher, and more equipment is available for your party members.

Monster Sanctuary is available on PCs via early access. It will eventually also come to the Nintendo Switch.
