Taito announced its next Final Fantasy prize item for Japanese arcades will be a replica of the ball used for Blitzball in FFX. It will show up at the end of August 2026. It’s unknown if we’ll also eventually see it worldwide on stores like Amazon yet. Some other retailers are already showing listings however, such as Aitai Kuji. It is selling it for 3,500 yen (~$22).
This is actually described as a vinyl ball, and it will be about 30cm. So this ball will be larger than an actual Blitzball from FFX. It’s designed to resemble the ones that Wakka would use as a weapon to attack in the game. There are also some translucent bubbles on the surface to mimic the bumps on the ball.
Here’s the first photo of the item. It only shows it from one viewpoint, and there are no additional items to provide a sense of scale.

This entry is celebrating its 25th anniversary right now. As a result, we’ve seen it get a little extra attention. For example, there will be an anniversary museum in Shinjuku in Japan, a fan art project started, and new merchandise appeared.
The Final Fantasy X Blitzball replica ball will show up as a Japanese arcade prize starting at the end of August 2026, and FFX is on the PS2, Switch, Switch 2, PS3, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, and PC.
