The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gets A New Playable Character

Recommended Videos

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will allow you to play as a new character, Ciri, CD Projekt Red said this morning. Ciri is a descendent in a long-lost Elven-blood lineage, and and will play an important role in the series’ lore.

CD Projekt Red describe Ciri as “a powerful, living weapon capable of both healing and destroying the world she inhabits”. She’s pursued by the Wild Hunt, a cavalcade of ghastly riders, as well as the Empire of Nilfgaard, and Geralt will need to find her before they do.

CD Projekt Red say they added Ciri would benefit the overall plot of The Witcher 3, since it allows them to tell parts of the story from her perspective. However, they add, the game is still about Geralt and his story.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is in development for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It will be released on May 19th, 2015.
