The Dreams Demo Is Rolling Out Worldwide

Sony and Media Molecule have offered ways to play Dreams ahead of launch, both via a beta and early access launch, but there hadn’t been a trial yet. That’s changing on May 1, 2020, as a Dreams demo is gradually rolling out worldwide. As the PlayStation Store updates in various regions, the product listings are beginning to include a demo and a temporary 25% to 28% discount, depending on the region.

The Dreams demo appears to be somewhat comprehensive, as it gives people a chance to sample three elements of the game. For example, the “opening chapters” of the Art’s Dream campaign Media Molecule created for the tool are available to see what could be possible direct from the developer. People using the trial will also have access to a Media Molecule curated playlist that looks at some things people have accomplished. (Maybe you’ll see Persona 5’s Cafe LeBlanc or Stardew Valley’s Pelican Town?) You’ll also get some tools and tutorials to see what it is like to create within the software.

Dreams has started to find its footing as people play around with what it’s capable of. Especially now, as many have a sudden wealth of time on their hands. Companies are starting to get vigilant about what appears inside of it, though, as Nintendo even had a Super Mario-related, fan-created asset removed from it.

Dreams is available for the PlayStation 4.
