Fate/Extra Record - Nameless Archer

Kazuya Nino Promises More Fate/Extra Record Details In 2021

Kazuya Nino, the Japanese game director and producer who is currently working at Type-Moon Studio BB, promised to release more information about Fate/Extra Record in 2021. There has been barely any news released about the Fate/Extra remake since its initial reveal in July 2020. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

In his 2021 aspirations message, Nino also noted the recent trends of prominent game developers leaving major companies to run their own studios and more Japanese games using common engines, such as Unreal Engine and Unity. He considered 2021 to be a promising year for game developers and players alike.

We have translated Kazuya Nino’s comments as follows:

I began activities with Studio BB as a small organization starting last year. I think the duty of a game development studio is to prove that it can deliver interesting games to everyone. I will earnestly do my best without thinking too much about unnecessary things. We have Fate/Extra Record and one more small-scale title being worked on at Studio BB, so I hope we can show the progress on both titles next year.

In these recent years, a lot of game developers have gone independent. The environment for development has greatly changed, with things like generic game engines, so I think it has become an interesting period in which people can do various kinds of approaches toward game development. The next year will definitely become a good year for game developers and game players!”

Fate/Extra Record is a remake of the 2010 PlayStation Portable game Fate/Extra currently being produced in tandem by Type-Moon Studio BB and external development partners. It will be available on multiple unspecified platforms.
