The box will contain items branded with logos of the early R-Type titles. It will also include a single CD containing a new theme song written by MCU, a member of the Japanese hip hop group Kick The Can Crew.

The full list of contents in the Special Chronicle Box is as follows:

  • MCU x R-Type image song CD
  • R-Type chronicle T-shirt (75cm length x 102cm chest x 48cm shoulder)
  • R-Type Final 2 PC Engine package-styled keychain
  • Reprinted arcade leaflets of R-Type, R-Type II, R-Type Leo, and Armed Police Unit Gallop
  • R-Type logo sticker
  • Face cover mask (made of 90% polyester and 10% polyurethane)

R-Type Final 2 Special Chronicle Box contents

Note that this Special Chronicle Box does not include the actual R-Type Final 2 video game itself. Although Amazon Japan also offers bundles that combine the game with this memorabilia box, it only ships them inside Japan.

Granzella will self-publish R-Type Final 2 in Japan for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on April 29, 2021. It noted that the international release date, including the PC version, will be announced later; partly because they are separately handled by NIS America.
