To commemorate FFVII Remake releasing one year ago today on April 10, 2020, Yoshinori Kitase prepared a special message for fans. The game’s producer started by reflecting on the difficult situation with lockdowns. Kitase said the circumstances affected shipments where some players almost didn’t receive their physical copy. However, he also stayed positive by praising digital distribution. The veteran creator said the current digital era helped more gamers play the title despite the troubles. Kitase ended his message by thanking everyone for playing. He also encouraged gamers to check out Yuffie Kisaragi’s new episode in the PS5-optimized port, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.

The upgraded PS5 release will have several new additions. Including enhanced and reworked visuals, FFVII Remake Intergrade will have a hotly anticipated photo mode. However, the episode starring Wutai’s spunkiest ninja and Sonon will be an optional purchase. Fans who own the non-PS Plus version of the game on PS4 can upgrade to the PS5 version for free, sans the two chapters of Yuffie DLC.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will launch on PlayStation 5 on June 10, 2021. FFVII Remake is available now on the PlayStation 4.
