Kojima Productions Announces Music and TV Division

Kojima Productions announced the creation of a new division for music, TV, and film. The division will be based in Los Angeles, California. Kojima Productions is establishing the division with the express decision to expand the company’s scope. According to a quote from Kojima Productions’ business development manager Yoshiko Fukada, the company is looking for new avenues to entertain and create engagement among its fans. The new Kojima Productions music and TV division hasn’t revealed details regarding any potential projects. That said, Fukada stated the division will allow Kojima Productions to “create narratives beyond video games.”

In September 2021, in an interview with Japanese magazine Anan, Kojima Productions founder Hideo Kojima expressed interest in making games that would change in “real time.” However, outside of this initial interest in potentially creating a more interactive title, neither Kojima nor company representatives have discussed any further concepts.

Kojima Productions’ first independent project, Death Stranding, recently hit PlayStation 5 through a Director’s Cut release. Outside of Kojima Productions itself, one of Kojima’s defining projects is receiving a film adaptation. In December 2020, Sony Pictures announced that a Metal Gear film adaptation is currently in development. In the film, Oscar Isaac will take on the role of Solid Snake.
